Notes:

John 'Downing' Hood, (son of Sunday Dowing and Polly Blackwell) in his Miller Application, lists his grandparents as : Sundie Downing and Pollie Downing ne Blackwell. His daughter, Emma, states in her Miller Application that her father died July 15, 1878. John Hood states in his Miller Application that his father died July 15, 1876. After the death of his father, Sunday Downing, his mother remarried to an Unknown Hood. The Downing children then took the surname of 'Hood'.
