244 ALICE18 STANDISH, the daughter of Roger Standish of Standish, Esquire, and sister of Ralph Standish of Napton-on-the-Hill, co. Warwick, gentleman, was buried at Standish Parish in 1564. She married James Prescott of Shevington and Coppull, in Standish Parish, Lancashire, born about 1509, died in 1568 and was buried in that Parish. The Visitation of Berk shire, A. D., 1500, a contemporary document, contains the information which was given by her nephew, Richard Standish of Wantage, Gent., which explicity states that she was the daughter of Roger Standish of Standish, Esquire, who was the third son of Ralph Standish of Standish, Esquire, the lord of the manor of Standish.
