Notes:

In 1808 the Will of Giles Se(a)ward (History of Vassalborough Maine, page 61) left “to
daughter Abigail Tarbell the sum of one dollar , to sons John, Wentworth L., Samuel G., Daniel Seward of one dollar apiece, to daughters Betsy Seward, Polly, Maria Seward the sum of one dollar apiece as soon as of age 21 years.” The estate consisted of the homestead dwelling, sawmill, gristmill and shop, pew in the Baptists Meeting House, and the personal estate of 1 pair pantaloons, 1 greatcoat, 4 waistcoats, library and 1 Holy Bible. There was a long list of “notes due”.
