Residence: 15 AUG 1775, Seth was still in Northampton Co. when he, with William Avent, witnessed a deed from Thomas Avent of Edgecombe Co. to Henry Mason of 200 acres that had fallen to him under the will of William Avent his father rec. Dec. 1778[id. 6:255]

Residence: 06 FEB 1778, Chatham Co., NC-he bought for 100 lbs. 20 acres on the south side of Cape Fear River from Richard Worthen [chatham Co. Deeds B:118, recorded Feb. 1778]

Property: 04 JAN 1812, Seth gave to his son William 50 acres on the west side of buckhorn Creek [Chatham Co., Deeds S:185, ackn. and rec. Feb. 1812]

Religion: Became a Methodist; a history of Chatham Co. says that the buckhorn church was built on his land [Wade H. Hadley et al., Chatham County 1771-1971 (2nd ed., charlotee, NC, 1976, p. 245]

Only Cotton in Chatham in 1790 census was a William. He is in the area of Buckhorn Creek in 1777.
