(7) William was the third son mentioned in Joseph Bridger's will in 1713. He bought 640
acres of land on the north side of the Meherrin River in North Carolina from James Gee of Surry County, September 15th, 1716. In this deed he is then shown to be a resident of Isle of Wight (N. C. G. R. I, p. 296). On the 4th of July, 1718, he witnessed a deed from WilUam Worrile to John Bardin for 200 acres of land on the north side of the Meherrin River and his name is signed "Bridger" without the " s " (N.
