Additional Information

Daniel CROSBY:

Notes:

Daniel, George's youngest son, may have married Mary less than two years after his father moved the family from Northumberland Co., to Stafford Co., or possibly even before that. George sold the plantation in Northumberland Co. in 1705.

Daniel's first child, George, was born some time between 1708 and 1725, for his grandfather's will, made in 1725, refers to him as not yet 18 years of age. As Daniel's son George made his will in 1736/37 it is likely that he was born no later than 1718-19. He died in 1737. His younger sister, Sarah, was married at the time George made his will, so she probably was born at least by 1721-22. Their father, Daniel, had died by 1737 and their mother had remarried. George referred to her in his will as "my honored mother Mary Matheny." Sarah and her husband, Henry Smith, both inherited land from George - she 100 acres on Accotink Creek in Stafford Co., and he 122 acres on Rocky run, south branch of the Aquia (Stafford Will Bk. M, p. 253)
