------------------------------------------------
Radford and Asa Cotton were in Edgefield Co., SC until about 1802 or 1803, when they moved across the Savannah River into Franklin Co., GA. They were living there in 1805, when they drew in the lottery of 1805. Baldwin County and Wilkinson County were given away in that lottery. In Dec. 1809, Twiggs County was formed from parts of Wilkinson County and the seventh district of Baldwin. Then in 1822-23, when Bibb County was created, the seventh district of Baldwin was split between Bibb and Twiggs County. The county lines changed, but the Cottons did not move.

Radford L. Cotton listed in 1820 Conecuh Co. US Fed. Census.

Radford L. Cotton migrated to Conecuh Co., AL, Mississippi Territory, by 1819 and was appointed one of the first commissioners of Conecuh County. He was listed as a Methodist Minister, but I have not found him in any Methodist records from Alabama or Georgia. He was possibly a lay person. A James Cotton later came to Conecuh County, AL and was the Methodist minister.
