II. Joseph, probably the Joseph Godwin whose will is recorded in Isle of Wight County, dated 1756, probated 1760. He was Burgess for Isle of Wight 1714, Sheriff and Justice in 1720. Joseph Godwin, Gent, of Nansemond sells land for a Court House and public building to Joseph Godwin, Gent, and Henry Applethwaite, feoffees of Isle of Wight. (Joseph of Nansemond was his first cousin.)
