A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at 4 a.m. at Flannery Oaks Nursing Home. She was 92 and a native of Greensburg. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Cannon of Greenwell Springs and Alice Landry of Baton Rouge; son, Talmadge Cotton of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Causey, Rena Cannon, Kevin Landry, T.J. Cotton, Wayne Cotton, Lisa Guice and Judy Guice; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Cotton; parents, Clinton and Lula Smith; four brothers, Harvey, Willie, Charlie and Tommy Smith; and two sisters, Mattie Hutchinson and Neva Newman. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Sept. 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Womack. Interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
