Adopted by May & Ida Cutler, living on a farm in Orosi Twp., Tulare County
He was farmed out to 2 spinster schoolteachers to live with when he was a child. They were very wealthy and left him several orange orchards in the Orosi, CA area. He ran those for his business and virtually owned the town.
He lost his arm in a hunting accident. Apparently he was dove hunting and when he was crossing a fence he shot himself in the arm and ended up losing his arm.
