was apparently a descendant of Dr. Henry Blagrave who appears in the York county, Virginia, records about 1660. The subject of this sketch was a burgess of Lunenberg county from 1761 to 1772.

HENRY BLAGRAVE of Cumberland Parish, Lunenburg Co., to AARON HUTCHINGS, b/sale Negroes Waga and wife Patt, men Seacer and Tom, boys Fanny, Tabitha, also 3 mares, 2 horses, stock of cattle and hoggs, all purchase money received above ?700 for sale of his land on Meherren River and Juniper Creek; in consideration of 700 acres in Pittsylvania Co. near Bannester River on Bare Skin Creek in value of ?1,150 and balance of cash and bonds said Hutchings has endorsed to said BLAGRAVE. Legal Notices from the Virginia Gazette, Richmond, 1784:
14 Feb. 1784. William Cowan at Lunenburg County forewarns all persons from purchasing from Mr. HENRY BLAGRAVE [V] or AARON HUTCHINGS a tract of land lying mostly in the fork of the Juniper and Maherrin in this county on which BLAGRAVE resides, as they have sold it to him.

HENRY BLAGRAVE of Campbell Co., Kentucky, conveys to HARRISON BLAGRAVE of Mercer Co., for ?10 and love and good will which the said HENRY bears towards his son, HARRISON, he deeds his right, title, and claim to and in 150 acres in Campbell Co. on Pond Creek, a part of Anthony Walton White's survey of 7,000 acres and the place on which John Colvin formerly lived, and adjoining Esquire Grant and John Lipscomb. Also gives him a feather bed and furniture and ?12. Signed: HENRY BLAGRAVE. Witnesses: Jeremiah Briscoe, John Durham, and Samuel Carr.
