Notes:

"William Cotton (the son of Thomas Cotton II and b. ca. 1725) married a woman by the name of Elizabeth whose maiden name may have been Alsobrook. Their sons are Jeremiah (b. 1761), Wells (b. 1763), Hardy (b. 1766 and who married Patty Saunders), and Alsobrook (b. 1768). They had one daughter, Sylvia (married to Richard Smith), for whom I do not have a birth year. They also appear to have had another daughter by the name of Lucretia born in 1762 (married to James Clements), though this is predicated on the belief that the mother (who is listed as Lucy) is really a mistake, this being the name of the wife of John Cotton, the girl's uncle."
