PERSONS NAMED IN GREENE COUNTY, ALABAMA ORPHANS COURT RECORD (A-L) 1824 - 1829
Greene County, Alabama was formed in 1817. This is one of the earliest records of the county. Some of the names in this document were of persons who had died and whose estates were administered by the Orphans Court. Others were heirs to those estates. Still others were attorneys, executors of estates or guardians of minor heirs. In some cases, the named individuals were commissioners appointed by the court to appraise property. Finally, there were occasional entries for miscellaneous reasons, such as a request to erect a water mill on a local waterway.
