"Son and Heir of Adam Shipley." He married Susanah Stevens 1703. administration of estate 1727. Sons: Adam, Richard, Samuel, Peter.

(1) Ann Arundel Co., Md. June Court, 1679. Richard Shipley, son and heir of Adam Shipley late of Ann Arundel Co. claims title to 100 acres of tract called "Howard and Porters range," conveyed to sd. father by Cornelius Howard (1679), who had grant from Lord Baltimore 2-19-1666).
(2) Same. Deeds, 9-19-1698. Richard Shipley to Katurah Barnes and Lois Shipley 200 acres "Shipley's choice" to be divided between them.
(3) Same. Deed, 9-8-1707. RICHARD SHIPLEY on behalf of his young brothers. RICHARD SHIPLEY carpenter. Deed of gift to brothers ADAM SHIPLEY, ROBERT SHIPLEY and PETER SHIPLEY of Ann Arundel Planters- to ADAM all his rights to 100 acres "whereon my mother LOIS SHIPLEY now Lives"; to ROBERT to 100 acres at Elk Ridge, part of a tract known as "Adam the First" (500 acres); to PETER 100 acres.
(4) Same. Deed, 9-8-1707. RICHARD and ADAM SHIPLEY of Baltimore Co., to Henry Sewell of Ann Arundel part of tract called "Howard and Porters Range" lying on Severn Ridge on south side of Severn River.
(5) Baltimore Co., Maryland, Deeds, 9-9-1712. RICHARD SHIPLEY (wife SUSANNAH). Deeds: to PETER SHIPLEY "Bachelors Vineyard" part of "Adam the First"; to ROBERT SHIPLEY "Robert's Delight" 91 acres of "Adam the First"; to JAMES BARNES "Eve's Dowry" 103 acres of Adam the First"
(6) Same. Will, 10-5-1724. RICHARD SHIPLEY. Plantation part of "Adam the First." Sons: ADAM, RICHARD, SAMUEL, PETER. (None yet of Age). Daughter: DORIS SHIPLEY (Part of "Brothers Partnership". Brother: ROBERT SHIPLEY. Wife: SUSANNAH.
(7) Ann Arundel co., Maryland. Land Office, 7-4-1727. Administration of estate of RICHARD SHIPLEY by widow SUSANNA .
(8) Same. Dividend, 3-5-1746. ADAM SHIPLEY and RICHARD SHIPLEY. RICHARD SHIPLEY decd. left by will to four sons: ADAM, RICHARD, SAMUEL and PETER - all his rights in "Adam the First." ADAM and RICHARD have purchased rights of SAMUEL and PETER. Now RICHARD sells to ADAM.
