THE HISTORY of PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY VIRGINIA
Moses Hutchings was the son of Christopher Hutthings and stated in his pension declaration that he was born in Culpeper County in 1754. He married Lucy Parks, December 13, 1780 (Marriage Bonds) and had issue: 1. William, married Judith Johns. 2. John, married Anne B. Williams. 3. Nancy, married Thomas Carter, IV. 4. Polly, married Jesse Walton. 5. Samuel, married Lucy Robinson. 6. Margaret, married Samuel Thompson. 7. Robert, married Mary Carter. 8. Stokely, married Nancy Johnson.

Moses Hutchings was sheriff of the county in 1817. He made his home just beyond Dry Fork and there in a rock walled graveyard lie the tombs of himself and his wife.
