Additional Information

Cyrus White 'Isaac Newton' COTTON:

Buried: UNKNOWN, Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, White Plains, Calhoun Co., Alabama

Notes:

Cyrus White Cotton seems to change his name from C. W. Cotton to Isaac Newton Cotton from one census to the next. His death certificate lists his parents as Pete Cotton and Nancy Hooten. He is not listed in the 1870 census. In the 1880 census he is residing with Peter Cotton and wife Martha. Note that Peter Cotton has a son C. W. Cotton age 19. The other C. W. Cotton, age 14, is listed as nephew impling that he was a son of one of Peter's brothers which would have to be Cyrus W. Cotton, a half brother, b. abt 1829, the son of Peter Cotton, Sr., and Mary Ford.

Cyrus W. Cotton, b. abt 1829, married 1st Nancy Hooten. The parental information on the death certificate of Isaac Newton Cotton, aka Cyrus White Cotton, referrering that his father was Pete Cotton may be in error. Nancy Hooten is probably the mother to Isaac Newton Cotton.
