Dastardly Assassination.

Navasota, Oct. 23, 1875.
Mr. Tom Cotton was assassinated while returning to his home, at a place known as Kellum Springs, nineteen miles north of this place, on the night of the 22d. He is supposed to have been shot twice with a double-barrl shot-gun, both shots taking effect in the left side and killing him immediately. No clue to the assassin.
