Notes:

Richard Callaway (1724-80) was the first representative from Kentucky to the General Assembly of Virginia. He was a defender at the siege of Boonesboro, 1776, when it was attacked by a large body of well-armed Indian warriors marching under the British flag. He was born in Caroline Co., Va.; killed in Kentucky.
