CATON, Jesse Caton, of KY., settled near the present site of Marthasville, in Warren Co. in 1811. He married a MISS SPARKS, who was a sister of HENRY BRYAN's wife, and their children were Noah, Jonas, Jesse, Jr., Elizabeth, Nancy, Jemima, Mahala, Rebecca, Fannie and Hester. Noah married a MISS MCDERMID. Jesse, Jr. married MISSOURI LAMME. Elizabeth married JOHN B. CALLAWAY, son of FLANDERS CALLAWAY. Nancy married ADAM ZUMWALT. Jemima and Mahala both married JOHN CARTER. Rebecca marred a MR. MCCUTCHEN. Fannie married DANIEL GILLIS. Hester married a man in southwest MO. but we could not obtain his name.

JESSE CATON
Jesse Caton of Kentucky settled near the present town of Marthasville, Warren County, Missouri in 1811. He married Esther Sparks, a sister of Elizabeth Sparks who married Henry Bryan. (B103) The children of Esther Sparks and Jesse Caton, Sr. were:

4. Elizabeth Caton m. John Boone Callaway (C201)

6. Jemima Caton m. John Cater June 13, 1814 St. Charles Co., Missouri
7. Mahal Caton m. John Carter (prior to 1856)
8. Rebecca Caton Bryan and Rose in "Pioneer Families of Missouri"
say that Rebecca Caton married a Mr. McCutchen. In the letters of Administration
of Jesse Caton, the husband of Rebecca Caton is given as William Menefee.

The Letters of Administration of Jesse Caton, Sr. give the following about 'a'
Frances Caton:
$1000 it being money distributed to Alexander Caton in Rite of his wife Frances Caton, paid to Jesse H. Caton, the lawful hear by Deed filed on record, May 28, 1856." Signed by Jesse H. Caton.
Petitioners in the Jesse Caton estate were William Eaton and Frances, his wife. (Frances Caton Gillis married 2nd William Eaton)
10.. Hester Ann Caton m. Hines C. Lynn
In the Letters of Jesse Caton, Sr., Hines C. Lynn was the guardian of his four children - William W. Lynn, Frances M. Lynn, Harvey H. Lynn and David H. Lynn in right of their mother, Hester Ann Caton.
Jemima Caton Carter had died prior to the settlement of her father's estate (ca 1856), leaving a child Zimri A. Carter to whom $400 was paid in right of mother, Jemima Caton. Prior to this date, too, the father, John B. Carter, had married Mahala Caton, sister of Jemima, for he and his wife, Mahala, were among the petitioners of the estate.
